Layli Long Soldier poetry reading/Deb Haaland Fundraiser

On August 9, 2018, we hosted a special event celebrating the voices of strong Native American women. Nationally award-winning poet Layli Long Soldier read selections from her groundbreaking volume Whereas, National Book award finalist and grand prize winner of the Jean Stein award by PEN America. The event was a fundraiser to benefit the campaign of Congressional candidate Deb Haaland, aiming to be our nation’s first Native Congresswoman. The reading was SRO and served to promote Layli’s exquisite poetry to a new audience and raise excellent financial support for a powerful and authentic political candidate.
